Choosing your plan

What each plan contains, how many users and work orders it includes, and what happens when you switch plan or when the free period ends.

CrankPal has four plans: Free, Premium, Pro and Enterprise. At sign-up you choose one of the first three; Enterprise is only activated by talking to us.

The difference between plans isn't "more features": it's how many people work in the app and how far the workshop goes — stock, till, e-invoicing, multiple sites. If you don't know where to start, start on Free and move when it gets tight.

What each plan is for#

Free is for the one-person workshop that wants to stop writing jobs in a notebook. Bookings, customers and bikes, quotes and work orders, inbox over app and email, courtesy invoice for the customer. Plenty to begin with.

Premium Premium is for the workshop with one or two members of staff. It adds stock management, counter sales, the multichannel inbox (WhatsApp, SMS, social), branded reports, assisted diagnosis and the handling of shifts, roles and permissions.

Pro Pro is for the established workshop that takes payment and invoices from the app. It adds electronic invoicing, electronic receipts, SoftPOS and card and payment-link payments, plus a route planner for the mobile mechanic, courtesy bikes, maintenance subscriptions for customers, acquisition analytics, the AI assistant in the inbox, priority leads and co-branded marketing.

Enterprise Enterprise is for anyone with several sites or a franchise network: everything in Pro, plus a consolidated multi-site dashboard, the franchising stack, custom integrations and a dedicated contact. It isn't self-service.

The limits that matter#

Prices and free trial#

Prices are written on the plan cards in the sign-up form and, once you're inside, in SettingsYour subscription. You'll also find them on crankpal.com. We don't repeat them here because they vary by country and by billing cycle — monthly or annual — and a documentation page goes stale faster than a price list.

Premium and Pro start with a free trial period. Its length depends on the country and is written on the plan card before you choose: where no trial is offered, none is announced. During the trial you can go back to Free whenever you like, without losing anything you've entered.

When the free period ends the first charge goes out — and that's where verified fiscal data is needed, because without a verified VAT number we can't issue an invoice. See Fiscal data verification.

If a plan isn't available in your country#

CrankPal opens plans country by country. In the sign-up form, plans not yet live where you are are marked "Coming soon" and can't be selected: the "recommended" badge moves to the most complete plan you can actually activate, and if only Free is available it isn't shown at all.

This isn't an error or a problem with your account: it's a deliberate market-by-market rollout, tied among other things to local tax rules. You can start on Free and move to the plan you want when it becomes available.

Changing plan later#

The plan isn't a permanent decision. Inside the app you change it in SettingsYour subscription, which also holds your payment method and your subscription invoices. The tab is visible to anyone with the manage_workshop permission, and the change itself is made by the workshop administrator.

Moving up unlocks the new features immediately. Moving down doesn't delete your data, but the features the new plan doesn't include stop being available: if you had more stock locations than the new plan allows, the extra ones are frozen — the stock stays where it is, and the locations unfreeze by themselves if you move back up.

The operational detail of the subscription — billing cycle, extra users, cancellation — is in Subscription and billing.

Common problems#

I chose Free — can I move to Pro in a month?

Yes, from the subscription tab. The trial period, though, is spent once: if you've already used it, it doesn't restart with every plan change.

We need more than five people in the app

On Pro you can buy extra users beyond the five included; on Free and Premium you can't, and growing means changing plan. Enterprise has no user limit.

The plan I want is marked «Coming soon»

It isn't open in your country yet. Sign up on Free: the data you enter stays yours and the switch is one click once the plan becomes available.
