Features by plan
What each plan includes, the numeric caps (users, work orders, customers, stock locations) and what changes in the app when something isn't part of your plan.
CrankPal has four plans: Free, Premium, Pro and Enterprise. The plan decides which modules are switched on for the whole workshop, not for an individual member of staff. Who can do what inside a module that is switched on is decided by permissions instead.
This is a lookup page. Prices are not here: you see them up to date and in the right currency under SettingsYour subscription.
What every plan includes#
Some things are never locked, not even on Free:
- bookings, customers and bikes;
- work orders and quotes;
- the app and email inbox;
- the courtesy invoice, a non-fiscal document you can use to get paid without issuing an e-invoice.
Plans add modules on top of that base.
Features by plan#
The key column is the technical name of the feature. It is what shows up in the panel that opens when you click a padlocked menu entry, so it tells you which feature the app is talking about.

Numeric limits#
Modules are one thing, caps are another. These apply regardless of permissions.
| Limit | Free | Premium | Pro | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Users included | 1 | 3 | 5 | unlimited |
| Extra user seats you can buy | no | no | yes | no |
| Work orders per month, warning threshold | 100 | unlimited | unlimited | unlimited |
| Work orders per month, hard stop | 110 | unlimited | unlimited | unlimited |
| Customer records | 2,000 | unlimited | unlimited | unlimited |
| Stock locations | 1 | 2 | 3 | unlimited |
| Trial period | no | yes | yes | no |
| Self-serve sign-up | yes | yes | yes | no, talk to us |
How to read them:
- Work orders. On Free, once you pass 100 orders in a month the app warns you; at 110 creating a new order is refused until the next month or until you upgrade. Orders already open are untouched.
- Customers. On Free, once you reach 2,000 customers you can't add more. The ones you have stay complete.
- Stock locations. The cap only counts active locations, and on Free stock management isn't included at all, so the number 1 only starts to matter from Premium up. See Stock locations.
- User seats. Only on Pro can you buy seats beyond the five included. The price per seat is under SettingsYour subscription.
Padlocked entry or missing entry#
These are two different situations and they are diagnosed differently.
Padlocked entry — your plan doesn't include that module. The entry stays in the menu, with a padlock icon. Clicking it doesn't drop you straight onto a payment page: a panel opens explaining what the feature does and which plan includes it. This happens with Route Planner, Shifts, Stock, Suppliers and reordering, Counter sales, Customer subscriptions, Customer reports and Acquisition.
Missing entry — this isn't the plan, it's your user account. A permission you don't have makes the entry disappear, with no padlock and no explanation. Ask whoever administers the workshop to grant it: Permissions and roles.
The rule of thumb: if you see a padlock, look at the subscription; if you see nothing at all, look at permissions.
Changing plan#
You change plan under SettingsYour subscription. For the procedure and the billing side see Subscription and billing.
What happens when you move down a plan:
- Your data stays. Nothing is deleted: stock, orders, customers and issued documents remain the workshop's.
- Users above the cap are deactivated, most recent first. They don't disappear: they come back by themselves if you move back up.
- Locations above the cap are frozen, never the default one. The goods don't move and stay counted; to put them back in circulation you can drain the frozen location into the default one.
- Fiscal documents already issued stay readable and downloadable, even when the plan no longer lets you issue new ones.
Moving up a plan unlocks things immediately: no need to log out and back in.
Common problems#
I upgraded but the entry is still locked. Reload the page: the app reads your plan at login and after payment. If it stays locked, check under SettingsYour subscription that the payment actually went through.
I'm on Pro but I can't issue an e-invoice. The plan is only the first requirement. You also need your workshop's fiscal details verified (Fiscal data verification) and the customer's fiscal details complete (Invoices and receipts).
One of my staff can't see stock, but I can. On a plan that includes inventory the entry is visible to everyone. If it's missing only for them, it's a permission question, not a plan one.
